BASIC INFO

The leader and founder of the "Los Santos de San Caetano" street gang. (Yes, he got the name from his own surname.) Innocencio (or Jael, as he always insists on going by) has been running Los Santos since the start of the war, as well as defending his territory (AKA The Ridge) from any threats, such as other gangs, the San Caetano Military Police, insurgent groups looking to start fights in the neighborhood, and anything else you need to look out for during a civil war. Generally a chill guy, tries not to get into any trouble besides, y'know, the whole gang thing.

ILUSAO

Ilusão is an illusion based technique originally thought up by Rivaldo Oliveira, Jael's father. He passed the technique down to his son when he was four years old, before his disappearance. Ilusao itself revolves around Rivaldo's memories of Brazil and conjures illusions based on Brazilian wildlife, scenery, folklore, as well as general memories of people. (Ex. jaguars, flocks of macaws, the Boiúna, groups of carimbo dancers) While Ilusao may be more limited than other illusion based techniques in the sense that it cannot generate any illusion of the caster's choice, it makes up for it in the overwhelming realism of Ilusao compared to other techniques. Most illusions can only be seen/heard but cannot actually touch others or be touched. Ilusao's illusions can be touched, as well as attack others. Ilusao illusions cannot remain indefinitely, as maintaining Ilusao is very draining on a caster's body. Casting multiple illusions or maintaining an illusion for a prolonged period of time gives a caster an effect similar to running a marathon, leaving them exhausted and out-of-breath. After an illusion is withdrawn, Ilusao typically causes the user to hallucinate for a period time. Overuse of Ilusao will lead to increasingly worse hallucinations, a sense of "unreality", out-of-body experiences, exhaustion, and migraines.
Spoiler: Jael eventually learns how to connect Ilusao to his own memories as well, leading to a wider variety of illusions he can cast.
